Physicallayerandcommunicationprotocolaredetectedautomaticallyuponreceptionofmessages.

protocol.Aftereverypower‐upthecommunicationdetectionmodeisactive.
DynamicDataExchange(DDE)providestheuserabasiclevelofinterprocesscommunicationbetweenWindows
applications.FlowDDEisaDDEserverapplication.Togetherwithaclient‐application, eitherself‐madeorwitha
SCADA‐programfrom3rd‐parties,itispossibletocreateaneasywayofdataexchangebetweentheflowcontroller
andaWindowsapplication.Forexample,acellinMicrosoftExcelcouldbelinkedtothemeasuredvalueoftheflow
controllerandwhenthemeasuredvaluechanges,itwillbeautomaticallyupdatedintheExcelspreadsheet.
